Sloppy Joes are a family favorite and this recipe will leave your family asking for even more! With this recipe, I’m giving you measurements for making this delicious meal for an average sized family, or a larger sized crowd. It’s so simple to throw together, you’ll wonder why you’ve been using that canned stuff for as long as you have!
Sloppy Joes (family-sized version)
- 1 1/4 lbs hamburger
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
- 1/4 cup diced celery
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
Saute onion, green pepper, celery, and garlic until tender. Add in hamburger and brown until fully cooked. Drain grease from the meat. Add all other ingredients to your meat mixture and simmer for about 2-3 hours. You can adjust the seasonings, if needed.

- 2 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped green pepper
- 1/2 cup diced celery
- 5 tsp minced garlic
- 1 1/4 cup ketchup
- 5 tbsp vinegar
- 5 tbsp brown sugar
- 5 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 5 tsp black pepper
- 5 tsp salt
