Bread cubes are one of those kitchen staples that a lot of people don’t think about until the Thanksgiving holiday. However, I’m here to encourage you to find other ways to use them in your favorite recipes. Before you let your loaf of bread go bad, dice it up into cubes and toast them a bit in the oven. These bread cubes are great used as salad croutons, soup toppings, or we like them best in our family Thanksgiving Stuffing.
Seasoned Sourdough Bread Cubes
- 1 – 1 lb sourdough loaf
- 1/4 cup avocado oil or coconut oil
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsps grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Cube bread into bite sized pieces. Place in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix oil with remaining ingredients and whisk together.
Pour mixture evenly over bread cubes and stir well until cubes are thoroughly coated. Spread evenly on a baking sheet.
Bake at 425 degrees for 7 min. Stir cubes on pan and bake for an additional 8 min.
Let cool completely before using. Stir in a bread bag or airtight ziploc bag.
